German nouns always carry a grammatical gender. The article changes by gender and case. Tap any cell to hear it — its whole case-row lights up.
| Case | der | die | das | Plural (die) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
In the accusative (direct object), only the masculine article changes: der → den.
Ich sehe den Mann. (I see the man.)
| Case | der | die | das |

Your language: like Urdu/Hindi, German nouns have gender — but German has three (der / die / das) and the neuter das is new. Gender must usually be memorised with the noun.
