Deutschlandticket
The D-Ticket is the default for newcomers. At €63/month it covers all regional transport (RMV, VRN, DB Regio) across Germany. Subscribe with a German IBAN. You can pause for a month without cancelling.
The Hessenpass mobil cuts the D-Ticket to €44/mo for Bürgergeld, Wohngeld, BAföG, and some student categories — apply via the local Sozialamt.
Airport
The S8/S9 runs from Flughafen to Hauptbahnhof in ~12 minutes; Einzelfahrt €5.75. On the D-Ticket: already included.
